Dear Rob McGrath,
Hi my name is Ken. I just finished reading your story in a book
called "Free at Last". I am currently at a RRAC, just starting a two
and half year sentence. I did meet you and your wife when you were here
in jail. What you have is what I want a life to be FREE. I started
drinking and taking drugs at the age of 11 years old, I am now 42 years
old and broken down inside. I have a wife who is an addict and three
children ages 16,12,6 , whom I missed so much. If you could please help
me I would be so ever grateful to you.
Thank you,
Ken
Hello,
My name is Christopher and I am currently being held in custody
at FRCC, Pending Parole. The reason I am writing to you, is because I
have been looking for a Christian base program to help in my recovery.
I have always believed in God, but never felt strong enough to apply
his inspirations beyond being broke and helpless.
Since my Incarceration I began to read the Bible and contact
Christian Ministries for correspondence courses. I prayed regularly and
have made my mind about what I would like to do with the rest of my
life.
I have heard so many good things about the "Good Shepherd" and I
want to be a part of your program hoping to grow and help in the
recovery of others in your program. I am finished with crime and drugs and need your services, your help, support and resources to move forward in my life.
Can you please be kind enough to help me, I need your help. I
can assure you that I am not just another person pleading for your
help, and take your services for granted.
God Bless and Thank you.
Dear Rob McGrath,
My name is Alan, I'm 31 years old. I am a drug addict, alcoholic
and I've lived a life of drugs, gangs, and street crime. My whole life
has been nothing but chaos, drama, loneliness, sadness, anger and
humiliation. And because of my careless drug use I am also HIV and Hep
C positive.
It's been roughly 14 years, I am separated from my wife and son
because of my lifestyle choices I've made. I have been in and out of
youth detention centers, jails, recovery houses and treatment centers,
but always end up back in a negative circumstances.
I am sick and tired of the lifestyle I've been living, I am sick
and tired using drugs and alcohol, of being helpless and hopeless. I am
sick of having broken dreams and making broken promises. I want a
stable lifestyle and happiness back in my life.
I read your story in the book Free at Last and I loved what you
had to say. I would also like to start helping people like myself one
day. I really would like to have you as a spiritual adviser in the near
future and we could be friends. I need people like you and God to help
me change.
Sincerely,
Alan
